Level 1 Foundations: What to Know Before Your First Pilates Class

Welcome to Powerhouse Pilates in Common!

Every new member begins with Level 1 Foundations. This 60-minute class teaches the equipment, safety, breathing, alignment, and movement principles you'll use in every class that follows.

A strong foundation builds confidence, improves technique, and helps you get the most from every workout.

🌿 Why Foundations Matters

During your first class, you'll learn:

  • Reformer setup

  • Spring changes

  • Equipment safety

  • Pilates breathing

  • Neutral or Imprinted Spinal alignment

  • Core engagement

  • Basic reformer movements

  • Studio terminology

These skills prepare you for every Level 1 class and approved Level 2 classes.

⏰ Arrive Early

Please arrive 10–15 minutes before class.

This gives your instructor time to welcome you, introduce you to your reformer, and answer any questions before class begins.

Foundations starts exactly on time.

Because every lesson builds on the previous one, late arrivals cannot be admitted after class has started.
